Mental illness is a significant public health crisis that disproportionately impacts BIPoC communities due to structural racism. As part of the CHBC Mental Health System and Policy Work, we are creating a series of roundtable discussions with community members, professionals, and researchers to unpack the causes of mental health issues rooted in structural racism that the COVID-19 pandemic has intensified. Through these discussions, we have an opportunity to learn from one another and collectively pave the way to holistic healing.
Join us on September 23rd, 2021, our third roundtable discussion will center on historical trauma and ways of healing rooted in community. The event centering on these powerful stories will help us derive common themes and hear how the community cares for each other.
This event is open to everyone, please share widely!
